Read about the competition for the 2009 YES awards.
The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme pits young entrepreneurs to match their skills against others and develop products and services which they market and sell.
Administered by the Young Enterprise Trust, it is a learning experience for young people, teachers and business people in which senior secondary school students form a company.
They then become directors and develop products and services which they market and sell. The programme gives young people the opportunity to devel;op a wide range of business skills.
The scheme is supported at the local level by Regional Coordinators who find business mentors for each company, arrange directors' seminars, trade fairs, oral and end-of-year presentations, and teacher/mentor training.
