Blank Maps: This site contains a collection of blank outline maps of the countries and continents of the world. It also features information about each country and links to relevant websites

Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai (DOC): Learn about New Zealand’s flora and fauna, on the land and in the water.
Environment Canterbury: Find out about environmental issues in Canterbury - air, coastal, water, waste, pests & weeds, etc.

Getty thesaurus of geographic names: Enter the name of a town, river, mountain, nation, state, neighbourhood etc to find vernacular, English and historical names, name variants and coordinates. Often includes additional information about the places.

National Geographic Earth Pulse: Earth Pulse is a visual guide to global trends. Explore the state of the Earth. Compare population statistics, migration data, resource usage, water consumption and deforestation.
National Geographic Online: Website of the magazine of the same name. While the full contents of the magazine are not available electronically, an index is provided to identify dates particular topics were covered.
