Fiona GlasgowName:
Fiona Glasgow aka Fi or Nanny McFi
Age:
20
Shoe size:
Same as Shakespeare - 7. Actually I don't know what his shoe size was.
Fav song of the moment:
Well Richard it would have to be A Little Bit At A Time by Jonny Cash
Favourite Shakespeare quote:
READ YOUR LINES!!! No it would have to be... 'Will you then write me a sonnet in praise of my beauty?' Much Ado About Nothing.....Act 5, Scene 4......bet the others didnt put that in!
How did you get into Shakespeare?
Well my first experiance with ole Willy was in 2001, my first year at high school. I played a fairy in A Midsummer Night's Dream. I have to be honest though - I never understood any of it until my last year at high school when i was in, would you believe it, A Midsummer Night's Dream again. That time i played Puck. I have a much better grasp of it now.
Did acting help you come out of your shell or have you always been a
performer?
I was a dancer when i was younger and i was always goofing around imatating people but i was still pretty shy. I think a family member mentioned i should sign up and put my 'talent' to good use.
What's been the Shakespeare experience for you - how did young people
around the country react to the performances?
Children like to touch you ... the costumes I mean. Most children and teachers were absolutely enthralled by what we were doing and surprised when they found out our age! If there's one kid in the crowd with their legs crossed staring at you the whole time, you know you have made an impact.
Touring means you have to spend a lot of time with the rest of the cast
and crew - what were some of the best bits of touring?
Making fun of Ruth!! Nah we had alot of fun, some things we can't share ... ya know the whole 'What goes on tour stays on tour' thing? haha. For me it was sharing laughter with each other about absurd things, freaking each other out AND seeing some of the most B-E-Autiful sights we have here in good ole NZ - the gigantic L&P bottle for example.
And the worst?
Missing home! Particularly in the weekends or if someone was a little anti. That wasnt so good, haha.
Are you aiming for a professional arts / acting / entertainment career?
Well Richard i would like to teach drama to the youth of the nation some day, I'm aiming to take over Robert's job in the near future. I would also like to open my own drama school some day as well for people of all walks of life. Maybe be a TV presenter...
Looking back on your amazing adventure, what will your lasting memory
be?
Having my first case of motion sickness on the ferry. Eck! Nah, it would have to be the nights where we would stay up late and just muck around, eat junk and laugh. They were good times and i sure will miss em!
Any shout outs and thank yous?
Thanks to my family! for supporting me in more ways then one this whole year, it never went unappreciated. My BF Shannon for sticking with me even though I was hardly here!! Haha! And my mates that were back here in chch Lisa, Bex and Starz, they had open and welcoming arms for me when I came home.

One thing before I, Fiona Eileen Margaret Glasgow, sign off. Do not take Shakespeare out of schools!! If we teach people to understand it they can go on to love and appreciate the most beautiful and poetic words ever written in the English language.
