The Body — Christchurch’s Annual Festival of Dance and Physical Theatre

DancerThe Body Festival is an annual dance and physical theatre event in Christchurch. Festival organisers say 2011’s event is the biggest and brightest since it began 10 years ago, in 2001. They are especially looking forward to this year’s celebrations since last year’s festival had to be cancelled due to the earthquakes in September and February.

Based in and around the city, in parks, community centres and school theatres, there are heaps of workshops and participation events, as well as some truly amazing performances by New Zealand’s top dancers and performers, both amateur and professional.

If you love to dance, or just love to watch others, The Body Festival of Dance and Physical Theatre is the place to be.
